The PhD program in Computer Science and Engineering at Técnico (ULisboa) provides the opportunity for outstanding students with a Master’s (or equivalent) degree in areas that are related to the broad field of computing to conduct highly specialized training in Computer Science and Engineering, geared towards scientific research, technological development and innovation.
After concluding their PhD, graduates of this program are expected to have gained the ability to:
- understand, in a systematic way, a given field of study, and extend the frontiers of knowledge with their original research, according to the highest quality and integrity standards;
- critically analyze, evaluate and synthesize complex new ideas; •communicate with their peers, the broader academic community and the society at large about the topics they are specialized in;
- promote the academic, professional, technological, social or cultural progress within our knowledge-based society.
